Welcome to K-Youth 2025: Empowering Future Talent in Machinery & Equipment

K-Youth 2025 is a national initiative under Khazanah Nasional Berhad, designed to build a sustainable pipeline of highly skilled, future-ready Malaysian youth. Focused on enhancing employability and bridging critical skills gaps, K-Youth provides structured training and real-world experience in high-demand industries across Malaysia. As a committed Project Partner, the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) plays a key role in developing future talent for the Machinery & Equipment sector under Track A of K-Youth 2025. With over three decades of experience in building Malaysia’s technology ecosystem, MTDC is recognized as a national leader in technology commercialization, innovation support, and talent development. With a thriving network of over 700 ecosystem companies, MTDC offers a strong platform for participants to gain real-world exposure.

Through K-Youth, participants will embark on a 4-month journey:

1 month intensive technical training 

in areas such as Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMR), smart machines, automation systems, and next-generation manufacturing

3 months On-the-Job Training (OJT)

with placements within MTDC’s ecosystem companies, providing participants with valuable industry experience and hands-on learning

Criteria

  • Malaysian youth aged between 18 to 30 years old
  • Minimum SPM/SPMV/ TVET Certificate/ Diploma/ Bachelor in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical and other related fields
  • Fresh graduates or unemployed
  • Have not participated in any similar programme
  • Possess strong interest towards being employed in the Machinery & Equipment industry
  • Willing to commit to a full-time 4-month programme

1. About the Programme

K-Youth is a youth employability initiative by Khazanah Nasional Berhad that aims to develop Malaysia’s future talents. This programme is designed to equip youth with relevant skills to enhance their employability in the evolving job market. K-Youth reflects our commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship as part of our Malaysia strategy anchored on “A Nation that Creates” framework of capacity and community development. This is aligned with our Advancing Malaysia longterm strategy and the Malaysia MADANI aspirations, which meaningfully contributes to the country’s economic growth.

MTDC has been appointed as a Project Partner focusing on Machinery & Equipment sector. We offer 4 programmes:

  1. Robot Operating System for AGV/AMR (training location in Klang Valley)
  2. Autonomous Mobile Robot (training location in Johor)
  3. Electro Mechanical Machinery, Engine & Equipment (Road Assistant Pro) / Elektromekanikal Automotif (Road Assistant Pro) (training location in Klang Valley)
  4. Productivity Through Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (training location in Klang Valley)
  • Malaysian citizen
  • 30 years old or below in the year 2025
  • SKM/SPM/SPMV or universities and colleges graduates with a recognised Certificate/Diploma/Degree and above
  • Currently unemployed
  • Have not previously participated in any similar programme
  • Can commit to a full-time 4 months programme
  • Possesses strong interest towards being employed

The programme runs for a maximum of 4 months:

  • 1 month skills training
  • Up to 3 months On-the-Job Training (OJT)

2. Application Process

You can submit your application by completing the online form available on our official website or click here.

We will contact successful applicants within 2–3 weeks after application submission.

Classes will begin from July 2025 onwards. Please refer programme details, cohort dates and apply via this form.

Note: Class dates are subject to change or cancellation at MTDC’s discretion.

3. Training Details

Training locations vary depending on the programme (either Klang Valley, Johor or others). See the details in of programme location in https://tentra.mtdc.com.my/k-youth

The programme is conducted through a combination of hybrid, virtual, and physical sessions, depending on the course and location.

Yes, participants who meet the completion requirements will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Some programmes may also offer additional certifications. These certificates can carry weight to be added to your CV and LinkedIn profile.

OJT is a real-world training component that lasts up to 3 months, with salary. It allows participants to apply training knowledge in a professional setting.

Outstanding participants may be offered full-time jobs by their OJT employers.
Participants can source their own OJT placements and assisted by MTDC too.

That’s great! You are encouraged to seek employment during the programme. If you receive a job offer before completing the 4 months training, MTDC will assist with your transition while ensuring your training journey remains beneficial.

4. Allowance & Benefits

Yes, you will receive a monthly salary throughout the programme, including government statutory deductions (e.g., EPF, SOCSO, etc.)

The salary range are as follows:

  • Degree holders: RM2,200/month
  • Diploma holders: RM1,900/month
  • SPM holders: RM1,700/month

No, relocation or accommodation allowances will not be provided.

Eligible participants will receive the following:

  • EPF (KWSP) contributions
  • SOCSO and EIS
  • Adequate insurance coverage by host company
  • Medical leave & annual leave (pro-rated to be shared during onboarding)

No, accommodation is not provided as part of the programme.

This is a full-time 4 months programme, followed by placement or employment.

5. After the Programme

While job placement is not guaranteed, MTDC and host companies will try our best and assist and provide continuous support in your job searching.

This includes career guidance, job-matching assistance, and access to employment opportunities within our network. However, participants are expected to perform well and demonstrate their value throughout the programme in order to increase their chances of being hired.

You may secure direct employment with host companies, including MTDC’s eco-system companies and industry partners. Permanent job offers may be extended based on your performance during the programme and the hiring needs of the organisation.

Yes, please. For reporting and programme monitoring purpose, you are required to share your job placement details (e.g., offer letter and employment start date).

Yes, you may withdraw from the programme; however, you are required to submit a formal resignation letter and provide a minimum of one (1) weeks’ notice prior to your withdrawal.
